Crunch salad

Inspirational seems to strike me when I can’t be bothered to do a supermarket but have a collection of random foods in the fridge. This is another of those kinds of recipes. A quick raid of the fridge and pantry presented the ingredients for a new type of crunchy salad to go with the chicken skewers cooking happily on the bbq.

Jalapeno burgers

During our most recent COVID lockdown here in Auckland, these burgers were our go-to cheat meal. The open top of the burger pattie means you get a light cheese crust with a beautifully creamy and spicy filling.

Tandoori chicken skewers

The weather has been warming up, and I want to spend more of my time outside enjoying the beauty New Zealand has to offer. When the weather warms up, I want to spend less time hanging out in a hot kitchen; what an excellent excuse to get the BBQ cleaned off and fired up.

Workout Wednesday 29 January

Over the long weekend, I pushed myself a bit more than I should have, lots of time on my feet (or foot and crutches), and a monster mooch around in Whangarei left me feeling exhausted.

Workout Wednesday 8 January

While I am on the road to recovery, am trying to keep as active as possible. Spending time on the airdyne will only get me so far so, am trying to do a heavily modified strength and conditioning programme to keep me in the best shape possible over the next few months.
